Steamboat Pilot: Steamboat bars and restaurants participate in training to prevent violence

Following allegations of nonconsensual drink drugging at bars in Steamboat Springs earlier this year, seven local businesses have participated in training to create safer nightlife for the community. Steamboat-based COMMA Projects, a Better Tomorrow organization, is leading the charge in keeping nightlife safe and educating the community on how to respond to violence when it’s happening through a program called Good Night Out. “The program was created six or seven years ago as a collaboration between (Advocates of Routt County) and some of the local bars and restaurants who are leaders in the community,” said COMMA Program Director Julia Lowenthal....
